Workplace Investigation

Our employment lawyers are frequently retained to conduct workplace investigations in Toronto, as well as the rest of the country, when there is a need for a skilled and experienced neutral party to respond and assess a workplace complaint.

We have conducted investigations dealing with:

  • Hostile work environment
  • Bullying or personal harassment
  • Sexual misconduct and harassment
  • Policy breaches
  • Statutory violations
  • Racial harassment and workplace discrimination
  • Allegations of cause and inappropriate employee behaviour

At the conclusion of our investigations, we provide our clients with a comprehensive and detailed written report, which includes our findings of fact, and legal opinion and recommendations if requested.

Advocates of good workplace investigation practice, Janice Rubin and Christine Thomlinson are the authors of the Human Resources Guide to Workplace Investigations, published by Canada Law Book in 2007. It is the first comprehensive, practical guide to planning and conducting a fair and thorough workplace investigation.
