“I love the challenge of being an employment lawyer.  I derive great satisfaction from helping clients navigate through difficult employment issues and, at the end of the day, improve their workplaces.”

Jennifer Heath is an enthusiastic lawyer who is dedicated to improving the health and productivity of her clients’ workplaces. She is well-versed in current employment-related case law and statutes, but is also sensitive to the practical impact of the law on her employer clients and their employees.

With her solid experience in handling a wide range of workplace issues, Jennifer has represented small to large-sized organizations across various industry sectors, including manufacturing, energy and technology. Her skills include drafting employment and independent contractor agreements, termination letters and workplace policies. She also provides advice regarding terminations as well as wrongful and constructive dismissal claims involving senior executives and employees.  Jennifer has conducted numerous mediations and hearings relating to issues such as wrongful dismissal and disability.

Jennifer advises clients on a wide range of common law, contractual and statutory obligations, including those obligations under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and the Human Rights Code.  Her work also involves representing clients before the Superior Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court, the Human Rights Tribunal and the Ontario Labour Board.

In addition to assisting employer clients, Jennifer also represents senior employee clients, both in pre-litigation negotiations and in the courtroom.

Jennifer is a novice chef, whose recent successes include not setting off the smoke detector.  In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys playing basketball and travelling.
